Be careful about Internet fraud of used cars exporter! |
As you may aware that the importing used vehicles through by Internet becomes one of the easy and quick way of purchasing the Quality vehicles at lower prices from Japan, and is now became one of the huge business as the trend of buying the vehicles throughout the world. It is a big advantage to both to the Importer and to the Suppliers, easy and quick communications make world so small and close each other.
Due to the recent development of Internet technologies , you can easily find the nemerous vehicle supplier's and their website where you can find the vehicle that you wish to buy at the price you like to pay. However, at the same time and beside this, there are also many snares that you will have to be very careful. Namely, there are many cases that may fall to frauds hidden among these vehicle exporters! That is really annoying to us, and exasperating for those whom it relates, especially for the companies who have been doing the right business with supplying the right, good & High quality vehicles to the valued customers.
Since we started our operation in 1977, we did not hear much about such fraud vehicle exporters by early 2000s. However, By development of the latest Internet technology, some people become rather too easy, and sometimes careless to choose right suppliers. And as the result , It has become a situation whose Internet swindler increases into this Internet business. We are often approached from our customers to recover the money which he/she paid to his/her ordered vehicle from the company to whom they remitted the his money. In many case, these companies have hidden the contact numbers, or maybe just a Mobile Phone No. that can be changed very easily, and sometimes the address is not real! The land line is out of reach and not connectable. As they are only using E-mail communication with Free -E mail address that everyone can also make without proper information.
Let us tell you one example that has happened on us lately; One of customer recently contacted to us and asked for a help to recover his money that he paid for his order of Toyota Land Cruiser 200 model as the price he received from the said company was US$25000 CIF which is incredibly low price, judging from the current market prices which worths around US$60,000- Obviously, the buyer must have been very much attracted by the price offered, but still thinking that he would get the vehicle that he ordered, and has been expecting to a news of shipping schedule!
But once he paid the deposit of US$12,000, the company has decided to keep quiet, and suddenly cut the contacts from outside and not reachable at all after that.
We therefore, started to investigate this matter by contacting many sources as much as we could. First, we try to locate their address by Google earth, and most of the time we can also go to his close office location with City map, and may be able to find who is exactly operating or not, and who is the exact owner of that office But the address given was seemed not existing address, but it's fake. Secondly, we have contacted to the local bankers where money was remitted, and apply the Freezing of the Bank Account with the suspect of the fraud case, which was also successful.
Then, thirdly we write the letter to the supplier so many times with contacting Governments bodies to protect the consumer right on behalf of customers. These swindlers know as they are so sneaky and unfortunately they use the advantage of being too far away from the victims, as most of the cases the buyers are away from Japan, and knew that it is not as easy to make any action against the fraud. Filing the court cases needs al ots of formalities and is also very costly in Japan. According to the Economic Law, it is not so easy to prove the Fraud case, in case the Supplier insists that they would supply the vehicle, and it takes very long until it is going to be proved as a Fraud. In the meantime, the supplier may be able to prepare very good excuses, also knowing the recovery of money by the victim takes lot of time, efforts and cost... But this being the case, fortunately, we succeeded in tracking his name, and correct Account 's holders at local bank and finally, our customer has got his full money back, the sum of US$12,000 from that man. Remember this is just a very lucky case, and if worst comes worst, he might have lost that amount of money!! It could be the reason as one of Japanese company is helped to chase him in the same country. We merely went to help our customer. Fortunately, this time was a successful case but not always be like this!
Though there must be still many fraud cases in this Internet purchasing system, according to the Media, and we are suggesting you to be careful when choosing the Suppliers in Japan.
In fact, the Internet purchasing system is to be the best way to both the exporters and to the Importers if it is being used in proper way by proper parties, but this system was used in wrong way by some bogus exporters, it becomes big problem!

Announcement no.27: JEVIC inspection of 2002 for Kenya |
From 2010, only 2003 and onward year of first registration(YOR), and an indicated manufacture date of not more than 1 year for 2003 year of manufacture (YOM) vehicles, will be accepted for importation into Kenya.
The Kenya Bureau of Standards has decided that JEVIC will not accept any bookings and inspections for 2002(YOR) vehicles from 1st December, 2009.
Your 2002 vehicle must arrive in Kenya in time to complete registration processes prior to 31st December 2009.
Please be aware of export procedures, sailing and import processing time frames.
